A famous British socialite once claimed that she never turns right when boarding an aircraft. We do - you can find us on seat 32E, nibbling salty nuts and fighting for elbow room. Sometimes we like posh lounge restaurants and sometimes we fall out of taxis! Wherever we are, we enjoy good friends, fashion, design, architecture, exciting art studios, concept restaurants and music gigs. Turnleft is a series of insiders' guides with great tips to the local scene. All our guides are free and edited independently.

Turnleft: a collection of free urban guides

Turnleft is a new series of free city guides for urban travellers. Meticulously researched and beautifully designed, our guides are ideal for finding your bearings on a short trip or catching up on the latest in a city. We publish quarterly, ensuring fresh local content, and we are proud to enlist the help of the best-connected locals for each new edition. We distribute in art spaces, stores and bars. Grab a copy, it's free!

Coming soon: Amsterdam, Berlin, London, Paris.

Our guides are free and can be found in carefully selected art spaces, boutiques and other social spaces in many cities.

In addition, above you can order a guide to be delivered to you anywhere in the world. We only make 200 guides available this way. Prices are in British Pounds and include shipping.

Turnleft is the trademark of a London-based limited company. Trying to be cutting edge and ironic with a 60% male Finnish contingent is proving an uphill struggle and we are always looking for new contributing talents to counterbalance our unsustainable demographics.

Ben (British, London)
Our super talented graphic designer, a student at the Royal College of Art: famed for his British stiff upper lip when faced with unreasonable demands from the rest of the team.

Johannes (Finnish, London)
Our creative mind, and a discerning fashion and design adviser; he hates the words fashionista and editor, so we call him creative director. Johannes knows everything about every city, rubbing shoulders with the great, the good, the rich and the skinny.

Mikko (Finnish, at large), technology, web marketing - (email)
Mikko is currently pretending to be a travelling executive while he backpacks around the world. He scrapes together most of the things on the technical side, and any relevant experience he has comes from a few years in Google's Product Marketing team.

Nick (French, Berlin), publisher, advertising overlord and wannabe world dominator - (email)
Sometimes Nick forgets where is from: born and raised in Paris, studied and worked in London, in self-imposed exile in Berlin. Despite his urban grands airs and Parisian attitude, Nick is actually a small town boy at heart and a closet lover of the French countryside, where he loves walking, cooking and helping farmers.

Ville (Finnish, Helsinki), business development and visionary extraordinaire - (email)
Ville was dropped in a large coffee cup as a kid, and judging by his sheer zest, left there for quite a while too. He recently mowed through grad school in LSE and a management programme with a major telco before deciding his contagious energy would be better spent on something grandiose and world-embracing. Cue Turnleft.

Turnleft Helsinki was launched in January 2008. Amsterdam and Berlin are next. Our followers are urban city hoppers, typically 'been there done that' creatives and professionals aged 25-39 with a solid disposable income, broad interests, a very open mind and a taste for the real life.

Campaigns are designed to create a strong buzz around our concept. Copies are distributed free of charge in carefully chosen venues. Turnleft guides are designed to become collector's items. Our advertising partners see in us the opportunity to promote their brand to a desirable pan-European audience and the chance to associate their brand to a creative guide and to a creative city.

We were getting featured in cutting-edge publications and site before we even got a guide out. We've recently been seen for example in Sunday Times in Australia, the Urban Outfitters blog and SlamXHype.com.
